I checked out my favorite salads at the Cheesecake Factory ~ not surprising that they're high... but now I know which one to choose over another, if I am thinking strictly calories. Of course, that's not how I choose foods. I almost always split the salad with a friend, but we also split an appetizer, usually (or dessert), so it is still a high-calorie meal... but delicious! But this gives me pause for thought... how can we still enjoy eating out without gouging our health plans? Hmmm...
I have found a few places that have healthy salads, especially if you can get the dressing on the side or bring your own. But, you're right--a salad can be a whole day's worth of calories, unless we ask for it to be prepared as we need it. And we shouldn't be afraid to do that....looking forward to your next post, Frances.
I think most salad dressings can quickly add up to extra calories. It's usually a good start to ask for it "on the side."
